Matt Whitener grew up on Mullett Lake, in Indian River. I feel lucky to have spent my summers cruising Burt Lake, Mullett Lake and the Inland Waterway and my winters skiing and snowboarding the local hills. Many of my fondest childhood memories are on the shores of Mullett and the slopes of Nubs Nob. After graduating from Inland Lakes High School in 1995, I enrolled at Grand Valley State University where I entered the School of Communications and continued towards a degree in advertising and public relations. In the spring of 1998, I earned my State of Michigan Real Estate License and became one of the youngest Realtors in the state at the age of 18. Continuing at GVSU, I spent my winters in school and my summers learning the real estate business. Later in 1998, I met a cute little yooper girl who just happened to live in the apartment next to me. Little did I know that after graduation in just a few short years that cute little yooper girl and I would get married and make our home together in Northern Michigan.
We've been back in Northern Michigan now for about 15 years and couldn't love where we live any more. We have two beautiful children we're raising in the same environment we feel so lucky to have grown up in, and we're both very active in the community. I earned my Associate Broker license in 2005 and various other real estate designations through the years. I'm active in several area organizations including being a past member of the board of directors of our local Board of Realtors, a member of the Tuscarora Township DDA, member of the board of directors of Blissfest Music Organization, etc. I've been a top producing real estate agent for the last 10 years or more and strive to provide the highest level of service and professionalism. I pride myself on my integrity and feel my long list of repeat clients is a testament to the overall experience I provide.
Give me a call or send me an email and lets chat. Above all, I want you to feel comfortable and have an enjoyable experience from start to finish.
